Efrain Mendoza, CEO and Founder. A pilgrim, storyteller, and passionate connector, Camino Wonders was born from a deeply personal journey. After years of working in the corporate world and living between, Venezuela, The U.S. and Spain, Efrain discovered the Camino de Santiago, and everything changed.

What began as a personal pilgrimage soon transformed into a mission: to help others experience the Camino not just as a destination, but as a powerful path of reflection, growth, and renewal. Efrain’s experience walking the Portuguese Coastal Way and the French Way (earning multiple Compostelas along the journey) gave him more than memories, it gave him purpose.

He now channels that purpose through Camino Wonders and his podcast, The Way to Your Why, where he shares heartfelt stories from pilgrims around the world. Through interviews with walkers, hospitaleros, historians, artisans, and fellow seekers, the podcast explores how the Camino connects us to something deeper, our “why.”

From logistics to emotional support, Efrain and the Camino Wonders team are here to make your pilgrimage feel personal, safe, and truly unforgettable. Every itinerary is built with care. Every question is answered with understanding. Every detail matters, because your Camino is sacred.

Maria Mendoza, Co-founder Camino Experience Director a dedicated pilgrim, compassionate guide, and co-founder who walks this path both literally and figuratively.

Maria brings over two decades of professional experience in business operations,  leadership, and client care, skills she now uses to craft seamless, thoughtful pilgrimages for others. But more than her impressive background, it’s Maria’s personal connection to the Camino that sets her apart.

She is a pilgrim herself, having earned multiple Compostelas across different Camino routes. Each journey deepened her appreciation for the spiritual, emotional, and logistical layers that make up the pilgrimage, and inspired her to help others walk with the same peace of mind and purpose.

Maria is known for her meticulous attention to detail and warm, welcoming presence. She ensures that every pilgrim supported by Camino Wonders feels safe, prepared, and cared for, from the moment they reach out to long after they’ve arrived in Santiago. She’s also a key part of The Way to Your Why, where her perspective as both a traveler and planner helps shape authentic conversations around the Camino’s transformative power.

Rafael Mendoza, Podcast & Media Collaborator, Rafael brings creativity, structure, and heart to The Way to Your Why, our podcast dedicated to sharing the voices and insights of pilgrims from around the world. Though he hasn’t yet walked the Camino himself, the deep passion of his parents, both multiple-time pilgrims, has made the journey come alive for him. Their stories, challenges, and transformations have shaped him in such a profound way that it often feels as if he’s walked every step alongside them.

Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Rafael blends his analytical mindset with a strong creative spirit. His unique perspective allows him to support podcast planning, audio coordination, and content production with precision and thoughtfulness.

On social media, Rafael helps translate the essence of the Camino into visuals and messaging that resonate. From crafting behind-the-scenes clips to designing community-focused content, he ensures that every post reflects the beauty, intention, and heart of the Camino experience.

With a future Camino already in sight, Rafael is a reminder that sometimes the pilgrimage begins long before your feet touch the trail.
